In a significant milestone for our community, our nib Newcastle Knights are proud to announce that our partnership with the 50-50 Charity Raffle has raised an impressive half a million dollars for local charities.
Our team achieved the $500,000 milestone just hours before their recent victory against the Gold Coast, setting a new fundraising record for the season with one game still to play.
These funds are making a meaningful impact by providing essential support to organizations such as the Mark Hughes Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities. Among the 13 groups benefiting this season, these charities are receiving vital resources to assist those in need.
“Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW is immensely grateful to the Newcastle Knights and the 50-50 Charity Raffle. The funds raised are instrumental in helping families with sick or injured children secure accommodation during challenging times,” remarked RMH Community Engagement Coordinator Kerryn Scully.
Kris Buderus, Events and Partnerships Manager for the Mark Hughes Foundation, also highlighted the significance of these contributions. “Our MHF volunteers look forward to the 50-50 charity raffle during the NRL Beanie Round each year. It provides an excellent opportunity to connect with fans while raising crucial funds for brain cancer research and patient support within our community,” he stated.
Since our partnership began in 2020, the 50-50 Charity Raffle has proven to be an effective means of supporting local causes. At each raffle, 50% of the prize pool is awarded to one lucky winner, while the remaining half is dedicated to charitable initiatives. Over the past five seasons, our Knights have collaborated with 56 charitable organizations, raising awareness and essential funds for their important missions.
