Commitment to Cultural Capability
We maintain a longstanding commitment to advancing Indigenous education and engagement in genuine partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, in collaboration with the University of Newcastle (UoN).
Our Cultural Capability Training, co-designed with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities including Awabakal, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Darkinjung, builds understanding of First Nations histories, cultures, and contemporary experiences. It equips our team with the knowledge and skills to foster respect, inclusion, and reconciliation, while strengthening awareness of Country, community, and the drivers of inequality.
The program also supports participants to recognise and address cultural bias and develop a greater appreciation of diverse First Nations knowledges and perspectives. In 2025, we delivered this training to 23 of our leaders, strengthening cultural capability at a leadership level. Through our ongoing partnership with UoN, we are committed to delivering this training annually for leaders, ensuring cultural capability continues to grow and strengthen across our organisation.
