Supporting Prostate Cancer Awareness and Support in the Hunter Region
The Wests Group, through its ClubGRANTs initiative, proudly supports the Prostate Survival Alliance with a $10,000 donation. This alliance provides free information and counselling services to locals affected by prostate cancer, including high-risk men, advanced-stage patients, newly diagnosed individuals, and their families.
In the Hunter Region, prostate cancer has the highest mortality rate in NSW at 43%. Our support has helped reduce this rate to 37%. Prostate cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer in males and the second leading cause of male mortality. Early detection through PSA blood tests and proper treatment are crucial, raising the 5-year survival rate to 95%.
Our donation helps provide essential counselling, promote early diagnosis, and raise awareness through community events and workplace presentations.
