Safe Places, Stronger Futures: Jenny's Place Opens New Warabrook Centre

Jenny's Place has officially opened the doors to its new premises in Warabrook, marking a milestone moment for domestic and family violence support services in the Newcastle region.

For nearly five decades, Jenny's Place has provided critical support for women and children escaping domestic and family violence. Through the NSW Government's ClubGRANTS program, Wests Group contributed $105,000 towards the Safe Haven Project, helping deliver a new, trauma-informed facility that brings the organisation's domestic and family violence, children's trauma, homelessness and community support teams together under one roof.

The official opening was celebrated with Lord Mayor of Newcastle Gavin Morris, Deputy Mayor Charlotte McCabe, State Member for Newcastle Tim Crakanthorp MP, and Kim Hall representing Federal Member for Newcastle Sharon Claydon MP, alongside the Jenny's Place team, partners and supporters. Wests Group Directors Katie Brassil and Robert Darcy attended on behalf of the Wests Group.

By strengthening coordination between services and creating a welcoming, supportive space, the project will enhance Jenny's Place ability to respond to the growing needs of the community — a place where new chapters begin, recovery is central, and a brighter future takes shape for generations to come.

Wests Group is proud to support Jenny's Place and the essential work they do to provide refuge, stability and hope for women and children across the region
