Fighting Hunter, Reducing Waste
The Wests Group, through the NSW Government’s ClubGRANTS program, is proud to support OzHarvest with a $40,000 donation to help continue its food rescue operations across Newcastle and the Hunter.
Each day, OzHarvest’s distinctive yellow vans collect quality surplus food from supermarkets, cafés, and restaurants — food that would otherwise go to waste — and deliver it free of charge to local charities supporting people in need.
By addressing food waste and food insecurity at the same time, OzHarvest is tackling two critical challenges facing our community. Every rescued meal provides nourishment and relief for vulnerable individuals and families, while also reducing the environmental impact of food waste.
