Career-Ready Program with the University of Newcastle
The Wests Group are proud Platinum Partners of the Newcastle Business School, supporting their Career-Ready Placement Industry Program. Through this partnership, they support the Industry Placement (BUSN3002), a structured component of the Bachelor of Business that connects students directly with industry experience. This 140-hour placement enables students to apply their academic learning to real workplace projects, while receiving guidance and mentoring in a professional environment.
In 2025, twelve students completed placements across Events, Commercial, People and Culture, and Marketing. Within the Marketing and Content departments, students supported a range of design and marketing activities across day-to-day operations and campaign delivery. This included creating digital and print assets, assisting with end-to-end campaign development, and contributing to social media, email, and communications activity—gaining practical experience while bringing fresh perspectives to a variety of projects.
The group wide program provides a supported pathway into industry, building capability, confidence, and career readiness while delivering meaningful contributions across teams.
