Clontarf Industry Day

Recently, Wests Group Australia proudly hosted our third Industry Day at Wests Mayfield in partnership with the Clontarf Foundation and NASCA. The day brought together nearly 40 local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from across the Hunter region, offering them a unique opportunity to explore a variety of careers and pathways within our organisation.

Students gained a behind-the-scenes look at life at Wests, rotating through hands-on experiences across The Gateway Hotel, Catering, The Cellar, Horticulture, The Balance Gym, and the Newcastle Knights. Our recruitment team also ran a practical session, sharing tips on applying for jobs, resumes, and interview preparation. These experiences offered a real-world insight into the diverse roles that power our venues, teams, and operations and gave a taste first-hand on what careers pathways Wests has to offer.

This initiative aligns with our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), which strengthens our commitment to meaningful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. By creating opportunities for engagement, education, and growth, we continue to work towards a future where our organisation represents and reflects the communities we proudly serve.
