ESSENTIAL TIPS FOR POST LOCKDOWN TRAVEL
It won't be long until trips away are back on the agenda and we're all packaging our suitcases to the absolute brim. Whilst travel will never be the same again, we will still be able to have safe, healthy and fun holidays. We've found five important tips for travelling in a post lockdown world:
1. Start researching
With time up our sleeves, it pays to do some holiday research prior to booking. Government restrictions may vary from state to state and it's essential to be on top of these rules. Check out your destination's council, tourism and local attraction's social media sites to ensure they're still operating as normal. Researching also allows you to find fun experiences, eateries or breath-taking sceneries to look forward to.
2. Embrace the early bird
To keep everyone safe and healthy, many businesses including restaurants, clubs and cafes are limiting how many people can enter their venue. Book in advance to avoid any disappointments and try not to be late your booking. If you're running on a tight schedule, allow extra time for any safety stuff i.e. signing in or keeping a mask on hand.
3. Extend your trip and get out there
We have spent so much time cooped up indoors why not extend your trip to visit other local areas and attractions. The Central Coast, Port Macquarie and Blueys Beach are great spots to explore after staying in Newcastle.
4. Time for a road trip
It's the year of the road trip and it's not hard to see why. The flexibility of doing whatever you want, whenever you want is one of the greatest things. Stop along the way and take in breath-taking views or a delicious feed. You can also always hire another car if you don't want to drive your own.
5. Embrace the unplanned
If COVID-19 has taught us anything it's that you never know what's around the corner. Every nice trip has a few bump along the way and going with the flow is the best thing you can do to keep plans flexible. The best memories are those that are unplanned.
